the real deal in antio virus software |
I have been a computer user since university level studies in 1992 and soon encountered the internet in 1993, prior to the release of the first browsers for Windows. Since then, others have instructed me of the need for essential applications such as Anti- Virus software and Firewall with recent updates.I have used other makes of both but, on balance, Norton have come out on top in my experience for features, cost and easy installation. If you have a Norton firewall 2002 with internet updates till Oct 2004, like I have, it pays to read the on screen notes to avoid problems with it. It tends to use a lot of ram, bumping it up by 40 Mb, when its in the active detection stage, and takes 20 mins to scan 90,000 files on a 80 Gb hard drive. Mine is a 2.26 GHZ P4, XP HOME and you can bet that with faster computers, the time will be shorter. I bought this as it had added functionality to detect spyware and it pays to review software engines vis detecting viruss every year, and can say I have not had any problems with it and in all am pleased with this product and rate it 5 stars.

Norton AntiVirus 2004 Upgrade |
Exellent works very well, It even detects spyware and adware "Parasites" that shady companys have installed on youre computer, something which I have not seen in any antivirus product so far.User friendly interface, Runs live update automatically whenever symantec releases them. detects and removes viruses automatically when they are found. I would definatlly reccomend this as an upgrade from youre older virus scanner.

Excellent - take it out of the box, plug it in and start using it. The only problem that I have had is that wireless devices generally (not just this one) dont like brick walls and I have a lot of solid walls in my house. However, the Linksys range appears to be no better or worse with regard to range than anything else that I have tried.Setup is a breeze - especially if you are running a network with DHCP - although watch out as some Linksys kit comes pre-configured with different SSID names (I imported a Linksys Wireless-B Media Adapter which had a different SSID and it confounded me for half an hour or so before I found the setting and changed it). The only reason I give it four stars and not five is because I dont like the visual styling of the unit.
